Our Field Days have arrived! See the locations for each class listed on page 5. Remember: you must have a current VIPS ID badge to mingle with the children. Other spectators may sit in the bleachers.

Thanks to everyone who worked to make last week’s Book Fair a success. Special thanks to co-chairs Gail Jackson and Keesha Organ for putting it all together. Well done!
  • Tomorrow is an Early Dismissal Day; school dismisses at 12:15 p.m. Please make plans to pick up your child no later than 12:30 p.m. 
  • There is no school this Wednesday through Friday, November 26-28 for the Thanksgiving Holidays.

PTO President’s Column

Thank you to everyone who supported. volunteered and/or participated in our book fair last week. I know the teachers will love having books in their class.

We are reviewing our PTO budget. If you have a budget request, please submit it no later than Nov. 30 to Paula Kekish. You can submit online at http://westupto.org/submit-budget-request/.

I would like to thank some volunteers who have been working hard for us.

  • Paula Kekish for chairing and managing our PTO budget;
  • Wendy Cloonan and Adam Maurer for keeping our school updated as our HISD liaisons;

  • Kristen Flores for her contribution as our PTO parliamentarian
I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving break. I look forward to seeing everyone when we return on December 1.
