Here at Fleming Middle School, we are "RED HOT"!  The Administrative Team, Faculty and Staff demonstrated school spirit and support to our students making them go From "Worst To First"!  We honored our students with a STAAR Dance-Off and a Red Hot Pep Rally to boost student morale and keep them motivated.  We kicked off Monday morning with a special guest from the Houston Fire Department, Chief Galvan.   We danced the Harlem Shake during lunch and we ended with the Kashmere High School Band, Dancers, Viking Teacher Cheerleaders, a surprise visit from our very own FMS Viking (Mr. M. BULLYING STOPS HERE!!!!

The Lamar Fleming Fine Arts Department performed at Ketelsen Elementary School on February 7, 2013 in lieu of Anti-Bullying Week.  The cast presented a skit on the types and effects of bullying.  They stressed the importance of standing up for yourself and others; watching what you say and do to others because bullying hurts, scars, destroys, and can often lead to suicidal attempts by the victim.  The students at Ketelsen reminded that BULLYING STOPS HERE!!!!

Mrs. McGowen's 6th Graders

Kim McGowen Mrs. McGowen has great expectations for her 6th graders.  These 6th graders are working hard to create and build their very own roller coasters.  They build these roller coasters to help them understand potential and kinetic energy.  They also created the mouse trap cars to help them calculate speed.  Way to Go 6th Graders!

 Viking Dancers Rock

Macklin Students of Lamar Fleming Middle School Fine Arts Academy dance department under the leadership of Mrs. Josephine Macklin, performed on November 30, 2012 in Galveston, Texas.  The students performed at the Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (TAHPERED) 89th Convention.  The students worked long and hard for the Dance Division Kaleidoscope performance.  Kaleidoscope is a dance concert in which schools from around the state of Texas ranging from elementary to Universities have an opportunity to show what is being taught at their institution.  The various institutions dance instructors are convention members.  The students from Fleming were beginners and a young group raging from six to eight graders.

During the performance, schools are adjudicated by a panel of University Dance Professors or someone whom has many years of teaching dance.  The adjudication is to let the dancers know their strengths weaknesses and how to improve their performance.  Fleming dancers shined with high remarks from the panel.  Second year Fleming student Coley Auguillard was the talk of the panel on his high energy level and excellent technique.  Mrs. Macklin was very proud of all of her dancers. Macklin
