Greetings! I am delighted to welcome you to the 2012-2013 school year at John E. Codwell Elementary. This handbook has been prepared to inform you about our school and about the expectations we have for our students. It is a great way for you to find answers to questions you may have about all areas of your child’s elementary school life.

Please take time to read through the handbook and become familiar with the information. There are many items and area of interest to be reviewed, so it is important that every parent/guardian read the information carefully. It is our hope that you will keep this document available for a quick and easy reference throughout the year. Of course there may be periodic updates and changes throughout the year, so we ask that you keep the new information and cross out procedures that no longer apply to our school.

The faculty and staff are committed to providing the best educational program for our students. We believe that school success is fostered when positive communication occurs between home and school. I invite you to become actively involved in the education of your child by taking part in school activities and visiting John E. Codwell regularly. We look forward to working with you to ensure a successful school year for our students.
