is with great pleasure that I welcome you and your child to another year of
excellence at John E. Codwell Elementary School of Fine Arts and Physical
Development. The 2015-2016 school year is sure to bring new and exciting
learning experiences to our scholars.
we approach the new school year, I would like to you make you aware of some updates
to our current instructional program.
- The campus location will still be located at 4103 Brisbane (former
location of Rhoades Elementary and Inspired for Excellence Charter
- School hours have been modified. Student report time
will be from 7:45 am – 3:15 pm
daily. Students will be considered tardy after 7:50 am.
- Each Wednesday, students will be dismissed at 12:30
pm in order to allow teachers an opportunity to effectively plan daily
- The Leader In Me process will be implemented
school wide. This innovative approach to teaching leadership to students
will be a key component in building social and emotional skills for
Codwell students, staff and community.
- New textbook adoption for Social Studies. This will
provide teachers with up-to-date teaching resources in order to ensure
scholars are academically prepared.
- Uniform shirt color will be changed in 3rd
– 5th navy blue shirts to royal blue. This will allow
the shirt colors to match the school colors. All students will continue to
wear khaki bottoms (pants, shorts or skirts). Uniform and spirit shirts can
be purchased from the school.
