HISD is committed to helping ensure that all of Houston's children are healthy, energized, and well nourished. Each summer, more than 200 HISD schools provide free meals to children between the ages of one and 18. Children do not have to be enrolled in summer school to receive these free meals.
Meals typically are served on weekdays in June and part of July. Both breakfast and lunch are provided.
Parents interested in having children participate can call 713-491-5944. The service requires no registration, and proof of income or age will not be requested.
