Designated Make-up Days
Before the start of every school year, HISD designates specific dates as instructional make-up days. If classes must be cancelled during the regular school year due to inclement weather or other emergencies, classes may instead be held on the district's pre-designated make-up days.
HISD has scheduled two designated make-up days for the 2009–2010 school year:
- February 15, 2010 (first choice)
- April 2, 2010 (second choice)
It is strongly recommended that parents not make non-refundable travel plans for pre-designated make-up days. Students absences on make-up days will not be excused.
Note: Parents should check with their child's school to confirm the following information, as these can vary from school to school:
- hours of instruction
- non-teaching days
- early-dismissal days
- designated make-up days
