HISD Nutrition Services serves free dinner at 50 schools, ensuring that students and community children in need have a nutritious dinner each day. The federal Child and Adult Care Food Program, better known as the Dinner Program, provides free dinner at qualifying schools to students in afterschool programs and to neighborhood children aged 1-18. Children not already on campus can sign-in at the office for directions.
Nutrition Services serves both hot and cold dinners, with a varied menu that includes pizza, nachos, chicken nuggets, cheeseburgers, and hot and cold sandwiches. All meals also include a vegetable, fruit, and milk.
