RSS, which stands for "Really Simple Syndication," is a method of distributing online content using Extensible Markup Language (XML).
Houston ISD currently offers three RSS feeds to its users:
- Houston ISD Headline News: Includes stories about academic performance, awards and recognitions, districtwide initiatives, public notices, bond program updates, and more.
- Houston ISD Upcoming Events: Includes details on workshops, public auctions, job fairs, town-hall meetings, bulletin board postings, community events, sponsored activities, and Board of Education meetings and agendas.
- Houston ISD Parent Information: Includes alerts on such topics as student transportation, school menus, Code of Student Conduct revisions, Magnet program deadlines, free AYP tutoring, immunization and Special Education resource fairs, family festivals, summer reading lists, and more.
How do I use RSS?
Users can sign up to receive RSS feeds through a number of free news aggregators or add RSS feeds to their personalized Web pages (through sites such as Google or Yahoo!).
