Funding the Future
HISD Board of Education approves budget for the 2022-2023 school year

Part of HISD's new strategic plan is to work toward a balanced budget while prioritizing teachers, librarians, assistant principals, nurses, counselors, support staff, pre-K programs, special education, and ultimately—academics. The HISD Board of Education approved the budget for the 2022-2023 school year. The new budget takes effect July 1, 2022. HISD to expand services and supports for students with exceptional needs
All children of all abilities deserve access to services and supports that will help them thrive academically and reach their greatest potential.
At minimum, that requires adequate staffing and teaching development, open and consistent communication with families, and full compliance with laws and policies.
HISD is making every effort to not only meet these requirements—but surpass them so that all students with exceptional needs receive an exceptional education.
