Dear Parents,

Welcome back! It is hard to believe that Summer is gone, and it is time for the beginning of a new school year. This year promises to be an exciting and challenging one for all of us. As a member of the educational team working with your child, we need your assistance and I invite you to attend “Meet the Teacher” on Friday, August 24th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The immediate challenge that we ask your assistance with, is getting your child to school on time. Our new school hours are 7:45 to 3:00; your child must be in the classroom by 7:45. Additionally, on the first day of school your child will receive a packet with many forms, we ask that you complete them and return them as soon as possible. My last request, for now, is that you read with your children at least thirty minutes a day and supervise them as they complete their homework, which they will receive daily.

There’s a lot of excitement ahead of us, new teachers to meet, new books to read, new friends to make and new skills to master. We will share these exciting times as a team: student, parents, teachers, administrators and other school personnel. I look forward to seeing you soon and thank you for your commitment to your child’s education.

Queridos Padres,

Bienvenidos! Es dificil creer que ya finalizo el verano y es tiempo de comenzar un nuevo año escolar. Este sera un año lleno de emociones y retos. Como padre y miembro del grupo educativo, vamos a necesitar su ayuda. Por eso le invito a que venga a la escuela el viernes, 24 agosto de 2012 entre las 11:00am y 1:00pm a la actividad “Conocer al Maestro”.

El primer reto para el cual le pido su ayuda, es que su niño llege a la escuela a tiempo. Nuestro nuevo horario es de 7:45am a 3:00pm, es sumamente importante que su hijo este dentro del salon a las 7:45am. El primer dia de clases su hijo recibira un sobre con varios documentos, es muy importante que esos papeles se devuelvan a la escuela lo mas pronto posible. Lo ultimo que le pido, por el momento, es que lea o escuche a su hijo leer todos los dias por treinta minutos y lo supervise cuando esta haciendo las tareas que recibira a diario.

Nos espera muchas nuevas emociones en el futuro, maestros nuevos para conocer, nuevos libros para leer, nuevos amigos para conocer y nuevas destrezas para aprender. Compartiremos estos momentos como un equipo: estudiantes, padres, maestros, administradores y todo el personal escolar. Espero verlos pronto y les doy las gracias por su compromiso hacia la educacion de sus hijos.
