I believe that educators should serve as highly self-motivated facilitators that are dedicated to enthusiastic and energetic teaching as a means of developing and nurturing students in becoming life long learners. I also believe that all students have the right and the ability to learn and should be given an equitable opportunity to fulfill this right. As the leaders of the educational process, teachers should stand in the gap to help students achieve success. It is important to model and promote the highest standard of conduct, ethical principles and integrity for all students.
I also believe that it is important to set high levels of expectations and develop individual goals for students throughout their academic career. Success comes when preparation meets opportunity. Therefore, teachers should provide the instructional and emotional support needed for students to achieve their goals without lowering the level of expectations.
I take pride in becoming a living example of life-long learning for my students. In the nine years that I’ve been in education, I’ve worn several hats from a teacher to and instructional leader, and accomplished many goals including obtaining my principal’s certification. My students have shared in my success along this journey and it gives me pleasure in knowing that I can live by the words that I preach…everything is possible!
