Dual Language Program

The Dual Language Program is both an additive bilingual program for Spanish-speaking students and a foreign language immersion program for English-speaking students. In Two-Way classrooms, a combination of native Spanish speakers and native English speakers are taught together in an effort to develop full bilingualism and bi-literacy for both groups of students.
Elementary Level

This is Anderson’s 3rd year offering a Dual Language Program!

It is a 50/50 model, where scholars receive Spanish instruction 50% of the day and English instruction 50%. We offer it in K-2nd grade, and each year, we add on the next grade- ie. next year, 2017-2018, 3rd grade will be added- and the program will be offered K-3rd.

It is the only bilingual program we offer for Spanish speaking scholars K-2nd, however English speaking scholars have a choice of an all-English education or a Dual Language. This choice is only offered at the kindergarten level- you cannot start at higher grades- for the obvious reasons of never being able to catch up.

At this time, the bilingual program for grades 3rd-5th is the Traditional Bilingual Program, where bilingual students are taught English at varying percentages depending on the grade level.

Our Exit Level is 4th-5th grade, where all English is taught, with Spanish support.

Please schedule a meeting if you’d like more information on our programs.

Dual Language Parent meetings have already been scheduled for K-2nd this fall.
