Dress Code

TOPS
· Shirts must be crew-neck “T” shirts (no v-neck), and match grade level school color. 6th grade-Red, 7th grade –Blue, 8th grade -
    Black.  Grade level shirts must be visible at all times. Grade level shirts must be plain-only Stevenson logos are permitted.

· Shirts may be long or short sleeve, but sleeveless shirts are not allowed.
· Colored grade level t-shirts with the Stevenson logo may be worn.
· Uniform shirts are not required to be tucked in, but can not be over-sized, baggy or tight.
· Under shirts must be plain white and not be visible below the bottom of the grade level uniform shirt.
· No. P.E. shirts or club shirts are to be worn as undershirts.

BOTTOMS
· Must be solid color-Khaki or Navy Blue.
· Belt buckles may not be large, decorative, or have names or initials.
· Belts must buckle appropriately and not be oversized or hang.
· All pants, skirts, Capri’s, and shorts must fit at the waist and crotch, be appropriately sized and properly hemmed or cuffed. (Not rolled)
· Pants must not be oversized, baggy, or tight.
· No sweats, jogging pants, warm-up pants, pajama pants, spandex, biking shorts, leggings, stirrups, stretch pants, or cargo pants.
· Garments may not have large oversized pockets including cargo pockets, on the outside.

DRESSES/JUMPERS/SKIRTS/WALKING SHORTS
· Must be solid color-Khaki or Navy Blue.
· Must be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee.

SHOES
· Students must wear shoes with backs and straps that are appropriate for school.
· (No flip flop, house shoes, backless shoes, or high heels).
· Shoes must be fastened at all fastenings and lace appropriately.

JACKETS
· No pullovers with or pullovers with hoods. Jackets must zip or button in front and must be in accordance with HISD code of conduct.


BACKPACKS: Students will have the option of carrying clear, or dark solid-colored mesh backpacks. Contents must be visible through the backpack. Backpacks must not be light colored, camouflage or any other print pattern, or be made in any way that would tend to obscure the contents of the backpack. Book bags or any other bags brought on campus must meet these requirements.


ACCESSORIES
· Exposed tattoos and/or use of pens or pencils to make marks on arms, hands, legs, face, etc. are not allowed in school.
· Excessive make-up is not allowed.
· Chains and necklaces must be worn inside the shirt at all times.
· Any shirt, blouse, sweater, jacket, shorts, or pants with rips, tears, or cuts, may not be worn.
· Ladies may bring small purses to school. Oversized purses will not be permitted.
· Hats, caps, and/or head coverings are not to be worn on campus.
· Bandanas of any color are not allowed on campus.
· Stevenson ID badges must be worn at all times on school-issued chain, school-issued lanyard or clip.
· No visible facial piercing.


FREE DRESS
No free dress at anytime unless approved by the Principal. Free dress must be appropriate, which means:

· Shirts must not be over-sized, baggy or tight.
· Pants must not be oversized, baggy, or tight.
· No sweats, jogging pants, warm-up pants, pajama pants, spandex, biking shorts, leggings, stirrups, stretch pants, or cargo pants.
