Lamar believes that clubs make a huge impact on students and, therefore encourages every student to find a place to plug in. Lamar offers over fifty clubs for all different interests. Clubs and organizations are also ways for students to get involved and make friendships.
If there is not a club for something you believe others on campus would enjoy, we encourage you to start the Club. Reach out to Mr. Jackson on how to do so. Email : firstname.lastname@example.org
These activities offer opportunities for students to learn the values of teamwork, individual and group responsibility, physical strength and endurance, competition, diversity, and a sense of culture and community. Extracurricular activities provide a channel for reinforcing the lessons learned in the classroom. By offering students the opportunity to apply academic skills in a real-world context, Clubs are thus considered part of a well-rounded education. Those who participate in extracurricular activities may have a higher sense of engagement or attachment to Lamar High School, thereby decreasing the likelihood of school failure and dropping out.
