Lamar believes that clubs make a huge impact on students and therefore encourages every student to find a place to plug in. Lamar offers over 50 clubs with for all different interest.Clubs and organizations are ways for students to get involved and make friendships with other students who share common interests.
If there is not a club for something you believe others on campus would enjoy we encourage you to start the Club, reach out to Mr. Jackson on how to do so.
These activities offer opportunities for students to learn the values of teamwork, individual and group responsibility, physical strength and endurance, competition, diversity, and a sense of culture and community. Extracurricular activities provide a channel for reinforcing the lessons learned in the classroom, offering students the opportunity to apply academic skills in a real-world context, and are thus considered part of a well-rounded education. Students who participation in extracurricular activities may increase students' sense of engagement or attachment to their school, and thereby decrease the likelihood of school failure and dropping out.
