Dimitrie Rainey

Dimitrie Rainey 



Dimitrie Rainey began her career as a fifth grade math teacher in Virginia’s Prince William County School District. She also worked in the District of Columbia School District and Maryland’s Prince George County School District. Ms. Rainey began her Houston Independent School District (HISD) career as a fifth grade math teacher and department chair at Blackshear Elementary School. Over the next 10 years, she served HISD as a middle school math teacher, dean of students, and assistant principal. Most recently she was assistant principal at RP Harris Elementary School. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education at Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina and her Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from American College of Education. 
Ty Malone

Tyvarion Malone  

Assistant Principal 

Tyvarion Malone began his career as a third grade reading teacher at Dr. Joseph Samuel Clark Elementary in Louisiana's Caddo Parish School District in 2012. Mr. Malone transitioned to Houston Independent School District (HISD) as a fifth grade math teacher in 2015 at Elmore Elementary. During his teaching experience, he has served in several leadership positions such as grade level chair, drama and theatre chair, math department chair, classroom culture specialist, and summer school coordinator. Mr. Malone received his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Grambling State University and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. 
Tonya Reyes

Tonya Reyes 


Tonya Reyes is a native Houstonian and proud product of Houston Independent School District (HISD). Mrs. Reyes graduated from Texas Southern University with a Marketing degree.  She initially worked in investment banking for six years before changing fields to begin her teaching career as a middle school English teacher. Mrs. Reyes later obtained a Master's degree in Administration and Supervision. She has spent three of her 16 years in education working in New York for the New York Board of Education. While working in HISD, she has held many leadership roles such as literacy specialist, instructional specialist and assistant principal.  

Alicia McDaniel  
Special Education Department Chair 

Alicia McDaniel began her career in Houston Independent School District (HISD) at Elrod Elementary as a para-professional in the Structure Learning Classroom in 2009. Two years later she became a teacher of the Structured Learning Classroom after receiving her teacher’s certification through the Texas Teachers Certification Program. Ms. McDaniel continued her career over the next 7 years in HISD in the special education department as a middle school co-teacher and a Skills for Learning and Living instructor at Sterling High School. Throughout her teaching career, she has served as team lead, mentor and high school, girls’ basketball coach. Ms. McDaniel received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology- Sports Management from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Ivy Hicks-Taylor 
Math Specialist 
Iyy Hicks-Taylor is a native Houstonian and a proud product of Houston Independent School District (HISD). She began her teaching career in 2000 working as a 5th grade math teacher at Petersen Elementary. She has graced her teaching skills on several other HISD campuses which includes, Kashmere Gardens, Foster Elementary, Crispus Attucks and Hartman Middle School. During her teaching career, she has served in several leadership positions such as lead math teacher, grade level chair, school math liaison, math department chair, career pathways mentor, and teacher math specialist. Mrs. Hicks-Taylor graduated and received her Bachelor in Business Administration and Teacher Certification from the University of Houston, Master in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and most recently her principal certification from Lamar University.

Shayna Webb

Literacy Specialist  

Shayna Webb is a Tennessee native who spent six years working with juvenile and adult offenders before switching careers to become an educator. She began her career in Houston Independent School District (HISD) as a 5th grade ELA teacher at Elmore Elementary in 2015. During her teaching experience Ms. Webb has served as 5th grade Reading Lead teacher, Girls on the Run coach, and has obtained her ESL certification. Ms. Webb graduated from the University of Tennessee- Knoxville with a Bachelors in Sociology and Criminal Justice.
