Early Voting: Registered voters who wish to cast their ballots early—before the runoff election takes place on Saturday, December 12—can participate in early voting (PDF) from Monday, November 30, through Tuesday, December 8, 2009.
Ballot-by-Mail: Voters who will be out of town during the early voting period and on Election Day, as well as voters who are 65 years of age or older, possess a disability which prevents them from visiting an early voting or Election Day polling location, or are currently in a hospital or nursing facility and are unable to visit an Early Voting or Election Day polling location may request a ballot-by-mail (.pdf) from the Harris County Clerk's Office. Runoff elections will be held this year for HISD Board of Education seats in districts 1 and 9. The elections for districts 6 and 7 were cancelled at the October 8, 2009, Board of Education meeting because the candidates were running unopposed, and Michael Lunceford won the November 3 election for district 5.
