What's New?

Work-based Learning gives students the opportunity to learn a variety of skills by expanding the walls of classroom learning to include the community. By narrowing the gap between theory and practice, Work-Based Learning creates meaning for students.. Shown below are students of Sharon Harris-Sims of Houston Youth Training Academy reporting for their first day of work at the central office of HISD Hattie Mae White Building. The students are participating in the WeCAN Works program through the Houston Youth Training Academy. All of the students attend Chavez High School.
