What We Do
The Magnet Department is responsible for all District Magnet Programs; "Magnet" is the designation given all specialized, quality integrated programs. The department is involved in the design, development and implementation of new, expanded, and modified Magnet programs and provides support services to 119 of them. A broad range of support services helps to ensure that the multi-cultural student population has quality offerings available.
The Magnet Department also plans and executes a community awareness campaign and student recruitment activities to ensure that all students have equal access to the programs. It is also responsible for three Outdoor Education Centers, which provide district-wide interdisciplinary instruction.
