| Professional Development Services’ ESS provides instructional support to the individuals who have the greatest impact on student achievement- PK – 12 classroom teachers. The professional learning experiences offered integrate HISD curriculum standards and promote the use of research-based instructional best practices that prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century. Support services are provided in core content areas, Gifted/Talented, and Early Childhood education. The ESS Group designs and implements services that engage teachers in alternate forms of professional learning such as webinars and hybrids in order to meet the needs of teachers. Action research, coaching, book studies, reflective inquiry, peer observations, and follow-ups which integrate Web 2.0 tools and technologies are just a few of the service options provided. In addition, customized services and partnerships with other central office personnel are provided in support of district initiatives. Services may be provided to districts in surrounding areas, as well. |  | | 1st Early Childhood Bilingual Conference When:Dec 4-5, 2009 Audience- Teachers of grades PK-2 Teachers of grades PK-2 will come together as a group of learners to focus on the latest trends and issues regarding Early Childhood Bilingual Education. As facilitators of their own learning, teacher will have ample opportunities to review district curriculum and explore research-based instructional strategies that create engaging and unforgettable learning experiences. | |
