The mission of the Department of Research and Accountability is to support the educational process in the Houston Independent School District by providing timely and useful information to schools, government agencies, and the community to support the performance and accountability in public education. The department accomplishes its mission by systematically assessing the district’s information needs, and obtaining, analyzing, and disseminating information in a timely manner.
