Compadres Familias Program

Compadres Familias identifies at-risk families for family mentoring to develop positive family role-modeling and conflict-resolution abilities. Family outreach workers support families whose children have been referred for troubling behavior. Trained families are paired with other targeted at-risk families to teach families how to deal with violence issues less aggressively. Family Services Center  of Greater Houston administers the program in cooperation with HISD. Program continues to grow with more parent graduates assuming mentor relation with other families. Participation rate is excellent.
