Summer School for Out-of-District Students

Elementary and K-8 students:
HISD Promotion Standards summer school is restricted to students who attended HISD schools until the end of this school year. The only exception is a 3rd, 5th or 8th grade student who has just moved into the district and has not yet met the TAKS requirement of the Student Success Initiative. This program begins June 4 and ends July 1.

Middle and *High students:
HISD Promotion Standards summer school is restricted to students who attended HISD schools until the end of this school year. This program begins June 5 and ends July 2. *Dates and times for High Schools may vary by program and by school.

Tuition Summer School:
Lamar High School and Contemporary Learning Center accept out-of-district students. Lamar offers tuition classes for high-school-age students who want to get ahead. The cost is $150 per class for children who live within HISD boundaries and $200 for those who live outside the district.
