Overview
The Technology and Information Systems (TIS) Networking Department is dedicated to supporting HISD’s educational goals by specifying, developing, implementing, managing and supporting complex computer networks and enterprise-wide district application systems (SAP, PeopleSoft, Chancery, Vignette, Email, etc.) to fulfill the District’s Declaration of Beliefs and Visions for the use of technology.
The TIS Networking group provides expert technical knowledge to project other departments within the District from requirement gathering and RFP response evaluation through system architecture design, implementation, and operational support. Major areas of support include database and application performance tuning, capacity management, availability management, continuity management, release management, change management, and configuration management. The TIS Networking group also provides reliable high-quality digital signal processing and telecommunication services; including data availability via enterprise systems to every department, campus and regional office.
