PeopleSoft & SAP Password Reset 2009

On May 11, 2009 any employee using either PeopleSoft or SAP may be prompted to change their PeopleSoft and SAP passwords when they login to either application.

Last spring HISD employees followed a similar procedure when all users were required to create stronger, more complex network passwords. Changing either the PeopleSoft or SAP password will not affect the network password at this time.

Please take this opportunity to choose a password the meets the criteria below.

Password rules include:

•   At least 8 characters in length with 3 of the following 4 characteristics:
  
  •   An upper case letter
    
  •   A lower case letter
    
  •   One number
    
  •   A special character (e.g., @, #, &)
    
    
•   The password will expire in 90 days and require a new password be entered by user
•   Previous six passwords cannot be used
•   Can only be changed once in 24 hours
                
  

Initially employees will be informed by e-mail to change their passwords. Thereafter the user will be prompted by the computer when it is necessary to change the password.
