Overview
The Technology Operations department is dedicated to providing consistent, continuous monitoring of the Houston Independent School District’s Data Center 365 days a year, 24 hours per day and 7 days per week. It is our goal to provide immediate mobilization during emergency situations thus ensuring continuous operation by alerting the appropriate personnel to restore network connectivity.
Objectives for 2008 – 2009 School Year
- Continuously overseeing and monitoring the environment in the Data Center, including the back-up power and cooling systems.
- Providing the first response to any electrical, network or HVAC outages in the Data Center, thus ensuring network connectivity to the entire school district.
- Processing Bi-Weekly Payroll/Benefits for all employees.
- Onsite and offsite data tape management.
- Participating in project initiatives in conjunction with other Technology departments.
