Bond Oversight Committee

Keeping the Promise to Houston's Taxpayers

The Bond Oversight Committee is an independent citizens committee established to monitor the progress of the Schools to Standard Program, making sure Rebuild HISD is staying on track and managing taxpayer dollars wisely.

The committee is composed of building and construction professionals and community members and monitors HISD's construction projects to ensure that the bond program is being implemented as promised to Houston's voters. Committee members are not compensated for their service to HISD, nor are they permitted to have active or pending contracts with the district.

Current members of the Bond Oversight Committee are:

  • Ber Pieper, Committee Chair, nominated by the Associated General Contractors, Houston
  • Alfred Calloway, nominated by the Houston Citizens Chamber of Commerce
  • Edmund Gor, nominated by the Asian Chamber of Commerce
  • Gilbert Moreno, nominated by the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
  • Chris Hudson, nominated by the American Institute of Architects, Houston Chapter
  • Michael Lunceford, nominated At-Large by former Superintendent of Schools Kaye Stripling
  • Terence Cheng, nominated by the Greater Houston Partnership
