HISD educators are invited to learn about recent changes in China while attending a special World Affairs Council of Houston event, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at the offices of Chevron, 1400 Smith Street (50th floor). The event cost will be $30, and participants are required to RSVP by Wednesday, November 4, 2009, by e-mailing edu@wachouston.org or calling 713-316-4475 with the name(s) and school(s) of the attendee(s). The fee provides for content speakers, breakfast, lunch, a curriculum binder and CD with case studies, lesson plans, and Power Point presentations with lecture notes. Complimentary parking will be offered in the Chevron garage at the corner of Smith and Bell Streets (entrance is on Bell Street).
