The Office of Special Populations is responsible for providing district-wide direction and support services for students who have reading difficulties (Dyslexia) and students who are at risk of dropping out of school (State Compensatory Education).
Additionally, it serves as the unifying vehicle for providing programs and support for students who are economically disadvantaged, limited in English, gifted and talented, as well as students who exercise the district’s school of choice option offered through Magnet/Vanguard programs.
The Office of Special Populations’ departments include Advanced Academics, Dyslexia Program Support Services, External Funding, Magnet Programs, Multilingual Programs and State Compensatory Education. Although each of these departments has a unique mission, function, goal, and objectives; all, have the distinction of looking at each student as an individual within the context of the educational setting.
