2018-2019 High School Information HISD & Private School Tours • 8th graders must be present for ADA attendance at 9:50 a.m. on the day of their tour • 8th Graders must turn in tour documentation to the attendance office upon returning to campus • 8th graders need to contact all teachers about missing work prior to the tours Private High School Recommendations • All recommendation forms should come with a self-addressed stamped envelope for each school application • Counselor recommendations should be sent to Mrs. Finkel in Office C • Principal/Administrator recommendations should be sent to Ms. Gosnay in Office A. • All recommendation forms need to be submitted to teachers, counselor and Administrator by December 22nd
All Magnet campuses will offer tours to interested parents. These tours are intended to help parents learn more about Magnet programs to make more informed decisions. All secondary programs offer tours at 1 p.m. on the following dates: October (5, 12, 19, 26) November (2, 9, 16, 30) and December 7. The Lanier Tennis team will be hosting its annual Fall Mini-camp starting in October. All grades and ability levels are welcome to participate and improve their tennis skills, without needing a physical or trying out for the team.
Online applications are available at mealapps.houstonisd.org. You must register using your name and creating a user name & password, then follow the steps to complete the application. Once submitted, it will give an application number. Additionally, forms have been shared with each school for distribution.
Not surprisingly, parents are asking for clarity on the district's statement regarding "relaxed" uniform. First and foremost, we want to focus our efforts on the social/emotional needs of our students. That said, "relaxed" dress does not mean "free dress".
Everyone is welcome to join our chess club. We accept members of any grade (6th-8th grade) or skill level. It is really fun. You will be paired against opponents of varying strengths that will test your skill and make you a better player.
