Congratulations to Pin Oak Middle School’s Algebra and Geometry teacher, Dr. Gail Hamilton, recently named Noyce Master Teacher Fellow, recognized by Rice University and the National Science Foundation as an exemplary secondary mathematics teacher. The Noyce Master Teacher Fellowship is a five year appointment with Rice University and the National Science Foundation. One of fifteen fellows, Dr. Hamilton is the only middle school teacher to be named.
As a Noyce Master Teacher Fellow, Dr. Hamilton will:
· Serve as a campus-based mathematics leader, to help improve secondary mathematics education
· Take courses in higher mathematics
· Teach/facilitate teachers in the Rice University School Mathematics Program
· Lead and assist in development of excellence in mathematics instruction for HISD
