HISD Television

HISD TV can be viewed on cable within Houston city limits 24 hours a day on Comcast (Time-Warner) cable channel 18, Phonoscope channel 76, TVMax channel 18, and Suddenlink channel 96 and AT&T Uverse on channel 99. HISD TV produces a wide range of programs serving all audiences in the Houston Community.  We produce instructional shows for students, such as our weekly Math-A-Letics show, which helps elementary students with their math homework.  We produce programs used by teachers and support staff for professional development.  And we create shows that help get important information our to the district’s parents and other stakeholders, such as Positively Parents, which features topics of interest and importance to the district’s parents.  We produce Let’s Talk About It, a program featuring an in-depth look at issues facing the district.  And  we produce The Student Achievement Show with Paula Harris, in which the Board of Education Trustee highlights topics of interest to the entire Houston community.  Many of our television programs are presented in Spanish, such as Aprendamos Juntos  and Vietnamese, such as HISD Viet Voice.

In addition, HISD TV produces a weekly newscast showcasing events and issues from throughout the school district.  The newscast can be viewed both on the HISD TV channel, as well as online through the HISD web portal.

HISD TV also broadcasts the regular monthly meeting of the HISD Board of Education live, then replays the meeting at regular intervals throughout the following month.
