We also hope our website conveys the essence of the wonderful learning environment fostered by our dedicated teachers and talented students. Together they make Benavidez the unique and special place we believe it to be.

Visiting our beautiful campus and meeting our teachers and students is the best way to learn more about us, and tours are available throughout the school year.     Benavidez Elementary was selected as one of the schools to offer Summer Enrichment activities through the HISD All In! program. We are receiving special funding and resources to provide enrichment classes, during summer school, for students in 1st grade through 5th grade.  This is so exciting and important especially because the students have not been able to participate in enrichment school activities and field trips due to the pandemic.  Now, we are fortunate to be able to offer fun enriching programming for them to enjoy.  The dates are June 17-July 8th at Benavidez!

     

    Even if you child is not attending summer school, they can still come to Benavidez and participate in our summer enrichment program!!  Please see the classes below:

    If you have received a Notice to Vacate or a Citation to be removed from your home or evicted, you may be able to get legal assistance through the resources on this page. It is important to act as quickly as possible if you already received a notice.

  • Curbside Student Meals

    Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8 — the first day of the 2020-2021 school year — HISD Nutrition Services will offer daily curbside pickup, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Benavidez. Each day, families can go to any location to pick up one pre-packed breakfast and lunch meal per student. The meals are served at no cost to families. Parents must show proof of enrollment in an HISD school — such as a student ID or report card — to pick up the meals.

  • Enrollment Information

    If you are a parent with a child new to HISD or need to enroll in a different campus, please visit this website after August 10 for additional information and instructions. No action is needed if you were enrolled in HISD on June 1, 2020 and (1) are attending the same school in the fall, or (2) are transitioning to a middle or high school that you are zoned to or, (3) are enrolling a magnet or school choice program you were offered a seat for. Students new to the district may still qualify for spots available at magnet and choice programs, including Prekindergarten; please contact your school of interest, visit www.chooseHISD.com or call 713-556-6734 for more information and assistance.
