About Me:
I grew up in a small town (much maller than Houston) and attended high school at the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science, the STEM governor's academy for my home state. In 1992, I came to Houston to attend Rice University, majoring in English literature and minoring in mathematics.
I have taught mathematics for 23 years; the 2022-2023 school year is my 17th year in HISD (I previously taught at Lamar High School) and my 10th year at CVHS. In the past two decades I have taught every math course from Geometry to AP Calculus AB and AP Statistics; this year I will be teaching Pre-AP Precalculus AB and AP Calculus AB.
Outside of school, I enjoy gardening and cooking, and I occasionally play autoharp and sing backing vocals for a semi-retired local band.
