B.A. in History and Hispanic Studies M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction in Mathematics with a focus in STEM

Ms. Marina Rodriguez

Hello!  I graduated from the University in Houston in 2011 with a B.A. in Hispanic Studies and History Double Major, then in 2019 with a M. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in STEM. Go Coogs! This will be my eighth year teaching and my third at CVHS. This year I will be teaching AP Physics, HADV Physics, and Pre-AP Chemistry.  I have also taught Algebra I, Algebra II, and Engineering.  I'm really looking forward to this school year!

I am the sponsor for the Latin/Hispanic Student Association, Rocket Club, and co-sponsor of the Astronomy Club.  I believe in the positive impact these clubs have on our CVHS students.

I am always looking for opportunities outside of the classroom that enrich learning for our students.  If you come across any, let me know!

Other info:

•I am currently a fellow with the University of Houston for STEM Teaching and Culturally Responsive Pedagogy (http://www.uh.edu/education/cuin-stem/)

•I earned the Excite Award from the MIT-Lemelson Foundation in 2018

Go Rhinos and Go Coogs!
