Welcome to Ms. Brannon-Reese's Class

Journalism / Upstream Advisor
I went to the University of Houston (Go COOGS!) for my undergraduate degree, which is in English. A little while later I moved to Baltimore, MD with some college roommates. I consider it a home away from home, though I've been back in Texas for longer than I lived there. While teaching in Baltimore City Schools, I graduated with my Masters in Education from The Johns Hopkins University (Go JAYS!) Baltimore will always have a special place in my heart, because that's where my husband and I met.
I love teaching writing and helping students see how to improve their skills, even when they think they're not good at it (to which I say, you're better at it than you think). One of the biggest goals I have for any class I teach is to help students become more critical readers, writers, and thinkers. I want them to see their potential, to take creative risks, and grow.
In my spare time, I love to read all kinds of genres (including silly romance novels, mysteries, general fiction, and current events). I also write poetry and like to crochet and do other kinds of DIY crafts.
This space is currently in progress and will be updated once meeting days/times are publically available.
