My name is Luisa Fda. Jiménez-W and this is my 8th year at Carnegie Vanguard High School.   I teach Spanish II, Spanish III (Pre-AP), Spanish IV (AP Spanish Language and Culture), and Spanish V (AP Spanish Literature and Culture).

    I am originally from Bogotá, Colombia, and Houston has been my home for the last 24 years.  I graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, in Bogotá with a Major in Journalism.  Later I obtained my Master´s degree from the University of Houston in Spanish Linguistics and Literature in 2003.  I have taught Spanish for 21 years, 16 of those with the Houston Independent School District, HISD.

    In addition to the academic work I also sponsor the Hispanic Honor Society, the Latin Dance Club, and co-sponsor the Running Club.   I love dancing, biking, running, soccer, books and films.
