Our PE program is unique for HISD as we have the opportunity to teach our students twice a week for physical education classes.  We strive to teach the students that all physical activity is important to a healthy body and mind.  Nutrition is a very vital part of our program. We encourage healthy eating habits by offering our Heart Healthy card game where students can earn a prize and recognition for making healthy food habits. We also introduce lifelong sports such as tennis, bowling, kickball, soccer, basketball, and running.

A variety of PE programs are offered at Lovett including our Track team which this year involves two track meets.  Students in grades 3-5 compete for positions on the track team. Another wonderful program is “Girls on the Run” which is offered for our girl students in in the spring for grades 3-5. This year we had two different classes offered due to the popularity of the program (hopefully we can offer 2 classes again).

Lovett Elementary offers Enrichment classes after school.  Here is a list of our classes for 2019-2020:

Mondays:  Mad About Hoops (hoola hoop class) and Mad Science

    Tuesday: Zumba and basketball

    Wednesday:  Tennis and basketball

    Thursday: Gymnastics

Friday: Basketball, Karate, and Abrakadoodle (Art)

All of these programs are lead by very qualified instructors.

We continue to have speakers visit our PE classes such as Speed Stacking instructors, Kids Triathlon experts, wellness instructors, and bowling aficionados.
