From the Principal's Desk

  • Dudley

As I walk the hallways and walkways of Fondren Nation each day, I am blessed to receive many hugs from scholars and adults that make up this community of learners.  To look in the face of a five year-old young boy holding a flower saying, "Mrs. Dudley, this is for you," is all it would take to make my morning.  To hear the chatter from the primary work stations or a hot debate from 4th grade reading class about WW2 only reminds me of all the hard work that teachers and staff invest in our scholars every minute of every day, helps me understand why I started this work.

Here at Fondren Nation, the home of the Mighty Colts, we strive to create a Caring, Optimistic, Leadership Mindset, as well as a Timely, and Safe Environment for all scholars.  We are a school where equity for all is our number one priority.  We believe that every child can learn with the right tools in front of them.  It is here that we make a difference.

Fondren Nation is a diverse school where the culture is such that scholars are valued, heard, and taught how to honor and respect one another's differences.  We believe it is important for children to explore and find their strengths to reach their true potential and notice the potential in others.  We cannot do this alone unless we make every effort to get to know every student.  So, the aim is to nurture the child into a self-confident individual, and build relationships daily. Just as Ms. Rita Pierson once said, " Kids don't learn from people they don't like."

Our Motto is: Love. Learn. Lead and our Mission Statement says: "Through intense preparation and rigorous, creative, and innovative instruction, Fondren Elementary educates and empowers PK-5 scholars to be college-ready and beyond."
