Enrollment & Registration for Accepted Students
If your child was selected and offered a seat to be a part of next year's freshmen class there are a few documents that we will need to secure your child's space.Please check your email inbox as you should have received an email no later than March 23rd with instructions and links to the forms and surveys that will need to be completed and brought in.You must complete enrollment procedures by April 5th or your seat will be released to the next candidate on the waiting list.If you are called off the waiting list, you have 10 business days from the first notification to submit paperwork.Enrollment paperwork may be completed digitally or in person. You must call to make an appointment at 713-741-2410 if choosing to come in person.
Regardless of the option chosen; the paperwork that will be collected includes:
- Magnet Entrance Agreement 2018-2019 (At the school or emailed to you)
- DeBakey Entrance Agreement (At the school or emailed to you)
- Proof of Residence (2 forms)
- 8th Grade Report Card (latest copy)
Once everything has been completed, you will receive the new recruit packet that lists all the important dates and information your child will need to make their upcoming school year a successful one. Congratulations and we cannot wait to spend the next 4 years learning and growing together.DeBakey High School falls under the "Separate and Unique School" (SUS) guidelines, and, as such, we are required to only admit students who live within HISD boundaries. We regularly conduct investigations to ensure that our applicants, as well as our current students, are in compliance with the SUS residency guidelines.
