My name is Joel Loredo and I'm an educator and technology enthusiast who is deeply passionate about both teaching others how to navigate our digital world and how to appreciate our natural world. My journey began in Houston, Texas, where I was born and raised. After graduating from Northbrook High School in Spring Branch. I pursued an undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, laying the foundation for my career in education. Later, I took my thirst for knowledge to the United Kingdom, where I completed my Master's degree at Oxford Brookes University.

My teaching experience has included working as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher in the classroom. In 2022, I had the honor of being awarded "Teacher of the Year" at my previous campus, a recognition that has fueled my commitment to educational excellence.

Beyond the classroom, I find peace and inspiration in working with bonsai trees. Some of my other favorite pastimes are camping and exploring our National Parks. I strongly believe in the importance of disconnecting from our digital lives and immersing ourselves in our natural world.

My love for travel has led me to live in various parts of the world, including South America, the Middle East, and the United Kingdom. These experiences have broadened my horizons and enriched my perspective on life and education. My adventures have been shared with my wife, Nikki, a seasoned traveler who has visited over 80 countries. We frequently embark on road trips during the summer with our two boys, Luca and Remy, ages 4 and 2.

As Mark Twain wisely said, "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." I have been fortunate to have embedded my life with threads of education, technology, nature, and exploration. I strive to inspire others to embrace the diversity and boundless opportunities our world has to offer.
