    Hug Zone Information

Dear SGP Parents and or Guardians,

The safety of our students and staff is our most important priority at The School at St. George Place. We are fortunate to have kind and caring students, teachers, and parents, and that our campus was built with safety in mind. Nevertheless, we are always reflecting on our practices and looking for ways to make the campus even more safe for our children and staff. With these principles in mind, and following the directive by Superintendent Carranza, the SGP Shared Decision Making Committee (SDMC) voted to establish a second hug zone for parents and students. PreK and Kindergarten children and parents have already had a Hug Zone in the mornings for nearly two years. Following Superintendent Carranza’s directive, and with the approval of our SDMC, we have established a Hug Zone for our 1stgrade through 5th grade students. It will be located adjacent to the Family Tree. At 7:35, first grade through 5th grade parents who want to walk  their children into the school may do so up to the Family Tree. Staff will be there to welcome the children and send them on their way to class.
