Kendrick Solomon, General Manger of Facilities and Fleet Finance and Accountability
Kendrick Solomon is the General Manger of Facilities and Fleet Finance and Accountability at Houston Independent School District. In this role he oversees the budget for all 26 departments that comprise Facilities and Fleet Services. In addition, he supports the HISD Police and Transportation Departments while also managing the Facilities Rentals Process. Solomon’s implementation of standardized processes for forecasting, reporting and internal controls is essential in managing these departments.
Prior to joining HISD, Kendrick worked as an Assistant Controller at a Renewable Energy Company. Kendrick has had the benefit of working in other industries including Oil and Gas, Healthcare, and Information Technology Services. Kendrick’s background has afforded him the opportunity to learn various industry best practices. In his past roles he has successfully lead initiatives geared towards process standardization and process improvements. These initiatives resulted in enhancements in efficiencies and cost savings.
Kendrick is a product of the wonderful HISD school system having attended district schools from elementary through high school. He went on to obtain his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Prairie View A & M University. In addition, Kendrick is a Certified Public Accountant. He embraces the role of being a “servant leader”, never losing sight of his goal of providing exemplary support to his HISD customers and colleagues. p>
