As a part of our IB programme, eighth grade students are required to complete a community service project. Students choose a cause, charity, organization, or topic that they are passionate about, and develop a plan of action, carry out the plan, and reflect on the process and experience. Students began in September with their research and will culminate the activity with a Showcase, where students will share what they learned by presenting to school staff, teachers, parents, and community members.

The Community Projects Showcase is scheduled for Wednesday, December 12, from 5:00 - 6:30 in the cafeteria.

Below is an example of some of the projects our students are working on. Three students planned and organized a Lunch for Teachers by selling plate lunches provided by their parents. Funds raised will be used to purachse blankets that will be donated to the organization of their choice, the Star of Hope Mission. The students raised almost $500 for their project!
