    Apply online to attend HISD Student Summer Camp in China, June 14-29, 2019 in Beijing and Chongqing, China. Meet students studying Mandarin Chinese from other U.S. districts as you explore one of the world's oldest cultures!

    After being accepted to the program, you must have an updated passport and be able to pay expenses totaling approximately $1600, including airfare and travel visa. All other expenses during the two-week camp will be covered by our sponsoring organization, Confucius Institute Headquarters.

    Eligibility Criteria
    Confucius Institute evaluates applications holistically. However, preference will be given to students currently enrolled in Mandarin Chinese language. The applicant must be:
    1. An HISD student who will be enrolled in grades 9-12 during SY19-20, as coded in Chancery.
    2. Highly recommended by their teachers.
    3. Interested in studying Mandarin Chinese in an intensive classroom setting for two weeks.
    4. Healthy and able to travel internationally.
