Mrs. Chantae' McCurdy
I am a native Houstonian who attended Crawford & S.A. Pleasant, & J.C. Sanderson elementary schools, Francis Scott Key middle school and The Premiere Middle College for Technology Careers High School all in Houston Independent School District. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication specializing in Broadcast Journalism from Sam Houston State University and Master of Arts in Education specializing in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. I am a first-generation college graduate.
My other professional and community affiliations include: The National Broadcasters Association, Black Journalist Society, National Educators Community Organization, and Texas Speech & Communication Association. I am a proud member of the illustrious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and The Links, Inc where I am able to serve my community through education, health, empowerment, and so much more.
Learning creatively is a passion of mine and I work tirelessly to insure my students are exposed to a variety of experiences in the world of media technology and global learning that will catapult their horizons for success. I believe in making learning more relevant, meaningful, and applicable with the assistance of today’s new teaching, learning, networking, and creative environments and resources.
It is an honor to serve the students of Houston ISD I began my educational career journey in 2008 at Sharpstown High School for 12 years before moving to my current position as the Instructional Technology Specialist of Houston Academy for International Studies. I truly enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, shopping, and relaxing at the spa.
