Kim Courville Williams

I am Kim Courville, a native of Galveston, Texas where I graduated from Ball High School in 1982.  I am a second-generation graduate from Texas Southern University where I received my  B.B.A in Finance in 1987 and my Masters Degree in Educational Administration in 2003.  This year I will begin my 31st year as an educator.  I have taught at the elementary level for 11 years and on the high school level for 20 years.  My career has afforded me the opportunity to impact the lives of students on the campuses of E.J. Scott Elem (3 yrs), Nat Q Henderson Elem (3 yrs), Jack Yates HS (10 yrs), Edgar Glover Elem (5 yrs), A.C. Flora HS in Columbia, SC (1 yr), and Jones HS (7 yrs).  I am currently in my fourth year at HAIS.  I have worked as a classroom teacher, Special Education Dept Chair, Instructional Coordinator, and Campus Leadership Team member.  I serve as the College Access Coordinator here at HAIS.  I am a second generation educator whose entire career has been devoted to education and having a positive impact on the lives of young people.  My professional affiliations include TESPA, Council for Exceptional Children, Texas Southern Alumni Association Lifetime Member, Ball High School Alumni Association, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

I am the proud mother of Kelsey Bone a 2013 graduate of Texas A&M University who is now a professional basketball player in the WNBA and plays professionally in Israel.  My son, Donovan Williams, is a 2019 graduate of Elkins HS in Fort Bend and is a Junior at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) where he is a member of the Men's Basketball team.  My family is also blessed with our Yorkie, Yoda, who believes he is really a pit bull!  I am an avid reader and writer and a contributing writer for Da Magazine, a local sports magazine produced by RCS Sports.  I also have developed and presented a series of workshops that helps student athletes prepare for the college recruiting process.  You can find me at a basketball, football, or any sports arena stateside or across the pond!
