Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Lubna Musallam

Before starting my career at Stevens I was a building substitute for three years in New York. I moved to Houston the summer of 2013 and started my first year teaching the following year. This will be my 7th year at teaching and 7th year at Stevens. The previous years I was a 2nd grade math and science teacher. This year I’m excited to be the Art ancillary teacher.

My mission is to create a fun, safe and educational experience. Growing up I had amazing teachers who made an impact. I aspire to do the same to all the students I teach. I want to create a classroom where students are able to come to me for anything they need, to have fun learning and be respectful and caring individuals.

In my opinion, creating fun and engaging lessons is what really appeals to students. I always tried to incorporate arts and crafts to math and science. Students really took their time to create beautiful projects. They enjoyed adding their unique and individual touches to their assignments.

I was born and raised on Long Island, New York. I graduated from Long Island University- C.W. Post Campus with a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Psychology. I continued my studies there and graduated with my Masters in Special Education. I spent the next three years after that substituting in the same school district I attended as a child. I moved to Houston summer of 2013 when I got married to my husband James.  We welcomed our daughter Juliana in January 2016 and son Dylan of February of 2018.  I’m very excited to start the 2020-2021 school year as Steven’s Art teacher!
