    Follow up:


    Debate students at EECHS were interviewed on the upcoming elections.  Thursday, EECHS has been invited to conduct a watch party.  Emphasis on self-care.  AP Chemistry Facebook page for group supports out of Texas professors.  The goal is to streamline final products across all AP Chemistry content teachers. Best Robotics kickoff was successful. The students were engaged in activities. Students are developing ideas to start competing. 504 meeting are complete and students will start being served.



    Announcements and News

    Thursday, Sept. 12th is the scheduled watch party. Faculty meeting to be hosted by Huggins.




    Essential Questions: What do you want your students to learn? How do you know when they learn it?

    Betancourt: AP books need to be returned by previous students.

    Vining: AP classes. Still needs textbooks converted to AP. Areas of History are being discussed. Classical Period in groups. Starting Monday, the students will do a gallery walk.

    Islam: two parts to class, AC/DC. DC will be covered in the fall semester. AC in the spring semester. Focused on building relationships. Voltage and current is being discussed this week. Problems on Register in groups and individually. Started with quizzes at the beginning of class for the first 15 min. Direct instruction to follow. Exit ticket at the end of class.

    Huggins: Vocabulary, essays, writing prompts, reading logs. Next week will focus on revise and editing.

    Square: Khan Academy Pilot School 


     Orozco to follow up with scheduling lab assistants for Betancourt.


    Essential Question: What do you do when they don't learn it?

    No major trends. Still gathering data. Focus is working on thesis writing. Ms. Huggins will support with writing. Brain Gene is helping the students in Chemistry. Students are being training in writing lab reports. AP courses are aligned and preparing students for college and the real world. There is a more unified purpose.

    After school tutorials and lunch tutorials.



    Mrs. Square will send out Tiered intervention bank.

    Behavior: Roundtable/Proposals

    Refer to Rodriguez for any tardy. Students must always be supervised by an adult.

    Log student tardy in chancery.


    Attendance Matters

    We are still having issues with busses. Lunch tutorials must be approved in advance by Mrs. Square.




    Rodriguez to provide accommodations to grade level team. 100% 10th graders have laptops. Rodriguez will provide lesson plans on SEL.




    Grades for AVID:


    Grades taken this week for AVID:

    • Daily grade for each topic
    • Completion of 4 was a major grade


    Streamline grading procedures:

    Discussion of the Learning Logs and AVID Grade Check protocols to support with collection of evidence, participation grades and final products that hold students accountable for task.


    Grade checks on Tuesdays.  Learning Logs on Thursdays.


    Next Steps:

    Development of Menu Boards as choice for demonstration of learning outcomes from the week.  Naming conventions for the grades.  Social and Emotional Sanford Harmony and Restorative Circles.
