Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Norma Ortiz
It is with great pleasure to introduce myself as a teacher. I enjoy listening to music and dancing and traveling and learning about different cultures is one of my number one passion. I love to spend time with family and friends over coffee, eating, and shopping. I believe in cherishing every moment in life. I am very lucky to be a mother of five beautiful girls they are the jewels of my crown. I am honored and proud to be a part of this fantastic school campus. I am Originally, from Ponce, Puerto Rico. I have been in Early Childhood Education for over 20 years. I love working with children. My hope is that we can be partners on helping your child succeed in every step of the way. I have worked for the Houston Independent School District for the last 5 years. I earned my undergraduate degree in Business Management from DeVry university. I studied Early Childhood Education at Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico. I have taught different grade levels such as pre-k, kinder, first grade and second grade. As a kindergarten teacher my philosophy is to create a fun learning environment where the children can explore new and creative ways of learning so that they can reach their maximum potential as they develop throughout their different stages of development. I believe children must be respected and loved for their individual uniqueness, and they need to be in a loving secure environment, where teachers and children can share together as they grow and learn. I aspire to promote the positive development of young children in all areas of growth including social, emotional, intellectual, physical, and creativity. We commit to the most comprehensive educational aspect of the “Whole Child.” I am very excited to be part of the Bonner family and I am looking forward to working with everyone this year!
