Final exam exemptions - ALL grade levels
Current information as of 3/26/21 -- subject to change
Final Exam Exemptions will apply to all students in all grades in all courses (not just pre-AP or AP) if they meet both of the following criteria:
- At least an 85 average in the course (cycles 4, 5 and 6 averaged)
- No more than three (3) total absences (excused and unexcused combined) in the spring semester for the class. Absences are per class (i.e. a student can be exempt from one course but not another based on absences in that particular period)
- Students who are exempt must be in attendance on the day of the final exam. Students must interact with their teachers as they always have for attendance purposes.
- If a student is absent on the day of the final exam, then the student must make up the final exam. Absence from the final exam voids the exemption.
Final exam exemptions are for all grades 9 – 12. They apply to all qualified students and are not at teacher discretion. If a final exam is given earlier than the week of finals, students can still be exempt. If the grade goes into the final exam category/column, then the student can and should be exempt if they qualify.
SENIORS: Grades and absences need to be finalized by Friday, May 28 (senior Finals will be that next week)
