Donica Arnold-BrownDean of Students(20 + Years in Education)
Donica Arnold-Brown holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas in Houston where she was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, Education Honor Society. She also holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Austin’s first institution of higher learning, Huston-Tillotson University.
Although originally from Austin, TX, Dean Arnold-Brown has worked in the Houston area public school system for over 17 years. She began her career as a special education teacher and is still currently a certified Principal as well as a Generalist (4-8) and Special Education teacher.
Dean Arnold-Brown has served as an English department chair, teacher, and athletic coach. As the 8th Grade Reading Team Department Chair in Lamar CISD, she was charged with coaching and leading teachers, working with campus and district leadership, developing intervention plans, writing and updating district curriculum and roadmaps. Dean Arnold-Brown has chosen to serve in multiple leadership positions on campus and on district committee consistently within the last 8 years. Upon her exit from the classroom, Dean Arnold-Brown had a 100% passing rate for her students on the 8th Grade Reading STAAR assessment.
Prior to her immediate position at Cullen Middle School, Dean Arnold-Brown served as the Magnet Coordinator for James Deady MS where she assisted in building a STEM program and facilitating a hefty program grant geared toward providing resources and opportunities for students of color in STEM related fields.
Dean Arnold-Brown serves the Cullen Middle School 6th Grade team and English Language Arts and Reading departments.
She enjoys listening to audio books, walking around Memorial Park, traveling with family and friends, and visiting her hometown of Austin, TX. She looks forward to serving the families and friends of Cullen Middle School.
